WTF
WTF: Heath is NOT in Hell!
Posted by Kevin Carr (kevin@filmschoolrejects.com) on January 30, 2008
I’m all hopped up on Heath Ledger news right now, and it’s pissing me off from every angle.
Amid a story about Daniel Day-Lewis dedicating his SAG award to Ledger was a mention that religious groups were protesting the awards show. One of the signs the protesters carried said, “Heath’s in Hell.”
What the fuck?
First of all, how does anyone know Heath Ledger is in Hell? Do we have a direct hotline to the netherworld? If that’s the case, I’d watch out for these people. They seem to know too much about some things.
The last time I checked, there’s only one entity that makes those decisions, and he’s not a chubby white guy with bad hair.
I’ll let these religious nutjobs in on a little secret… Heath Ledger was an actor. Ennis Del Mar is a fictional character. It was a role, an acting job – on which he met and impregnated his co-star Michelle Williams.
No amount of quoting Leviticus is going to convince me that homosexuals will burn for eternity. But even if it did, I will never be convinced that simply playing a homosexual will land you in hell.
These are the same people that must think Tony Danza’s a great father because of his role on “Who’s the Boss,” hate soap opera villains because they can’t make that leap in reality and truly believe they’re seeing Hannah Montana on stage after paying $2000 a ticket.
I guess that by these twisted morons’ view, if playing a homosexual is enough to send you to hell, you should write off heaven if you’re cast as a rapist or murderer.
Man, I’m glad these people aren’t in control of my afterlife.
And one more thing… why were they protesting the SAG Awards anyway? Heath Ledger wasn’t nominated for anything. Heck, he was barely in any movie in 2007, save his small part in I’m Not There, which was noticeably overshadowed by Cate Blanchett. Why didn’t they do something more constructive with their time, like feed the homeless, tutor a child or pick the lint out of my belly-button?

Man…. I *hate* these fucking whack jobs that make all people who believe in God look bad. Just like those idiots that protest at the funerals of fallen soldiers.
Idiots.

I’ve been a Christian all my life and the last line of your post was BRILLIANT:
“Why didn’t they do something more constructive with their time, like feed the homeless, tutor a child or pick the lint out of my belly-button?”
I wonder how many people died of starvation in the time those fools were standing there.

Still, there is a slight possibility he IS in hell, not for his parts, but for reasons unknown to us but good enough for a christian.

True, Ledger made few hit movies, and had a drug problem. But are you quite sure that Ms A Nichole Smith is a very good comparison? I thought talent counted for something.

So in you’re world only perfect people should be mourned.
You’re saying he was a drug user, so he deserved to die.
Catch a clue, theres no such thing, dont’ tell me who to feel sorry for and who not to. This isn’t Nazi Germany, us fans can express ourselves anyway we please.
The world really is coming to an end, when people complain of the coverage that a DEAD star gets. He’s not sick, he DEAD! GET IT! You don’t wanna see it? Turn the channel, stop reading the tabloids. Attacking the people who want to honor him is beyond low. It’s No wonder why the rest of the world hates us.
