Damn you Nancy Botwin and your sexy ways. On August 16, Weeds will return for its sixth season, picking up right where season five left us hanging. Where do we go from here? Is what you were probably left wondering at last season’s heart-stopping end. I know that I was. And as season six approaches quickly, we have the answer: The Botwins are going on the run.

See the entire poster and watch the teaser for the upcoming sixth season after the jump.

“With blood on their hands and Esteban’s crew hot on their tail, the Botwins say adios to Ren Mar and hit the open road on what’s sure to be a wild ride,” is how Showtime described it to us when they sent over this brand new season six poster. I find that to be a fun notion. Throughout the five year run of Weeds, there has always been a home base. Characters coming in and out of that scenario became mainstays for a season or two. But now seeing them go on the run (and based on the poster, bringing Doug with them) brings a host of new challenges to the desk of series creator Jenji Kohan. But I’ve got faith. Seeing the Botwins ditch Ren Mar is more than good enough for me. They weren’t at their best there, so perhaps the road will be more rewarding.

Check out the season six teaser, followed by the new poster (click to enlarge) below. Weeds stars Mary-Louise Parker, Justin Kirk, Hunter Parrish, Alexander Gould and Kevin Nealon.
