Thanks to many of you, and my colleagues around the web, I am a recent convert to shows such as Battlestar Galactica and Lost, catching on to both in later seasons. In fact, there are only a handful of shows that I have loved right from the beginning — shows of which I can say that I am a true die hard fan. Rescue Me is one of those shows. And in April, Dennis Leary and company finally return to FX for 22 episodes of one of television’s best dramas. Leary stars, as you know, as Tommy Gavin, a NYC firefighter with some, er, issues. So many issues that I dare not even try to get into it — post-traumatic stress, suicide, his wife had a kid with his now-dead brother, he’s Irish Catholic and a drunk — tons of issues.
Anyway, if you haven’t seen seasons 1-4 of Rescue Me, you should go pick them up at Amazon and get through them between now and April. Then you will be ready for the wildly entertaining season that is to come. For more on that, check out the season 5 preview below.
