Eureka

Eureka, SyFy, Airs Friday 9/8c

Episode: “Ship Happens” (Season Three, Episode 14)

Synopsis: After the people in Eureka build a landing platform in their sleep and a ship from the past lands there, we learn that it was a project that Henry worked on 20 years ago come back home. Moreover, everyone is shocked to discover his dead wife Kim as the ship’s occupant. Later, Henry learns that this is simply a clone of Kim that was created to back-up the organic computer system of the ship. As the scientists at Global Dynamics try to extract the data from her brain, mysterious electrical anomalies start happening around town, in one instance frying a guy alive. Sheriff Carter, Alison, Henry and Jo try to determine if the Kim clone is the source of this destructive power.

Review: Not a bad episode, although I was hoping for something a little more threatening to emerge from the mysterious signal that G.D. had been detecting for weeks.

It was nice to see Kim again, even if it isn’t the real Kim. This should infuse some interest and new life into Henry’s storyline, and it also opens the doors for some interesting drama over the rest of the season. My hope is that the organic computer that created the Kim clone has a strong self-preservation function (which has already become apparent to a certain degree in this episode), so much so that it becomes a threat to the town.

One of the other awesome elements of this episode was the complete and utter lack of Lexi. I hope this continues, although I have a hunch that there was just no place for a second pregnant girl in Eureka this week. I’m sure she’ll be back in all her annoying glory come Friday night at 9 p.m.

Up Next Week: People start drowning in Eureka in the most unlikely of places – like sealed cars and elevators. Jack has to help discover the source of the problem before the town gets all wet.

A week ago, Lexi said she was leaving town with her boyfriend. I'm sure she'll be back at some point, but I don't think it will be for the rest of this half of season 3.

I remember that from last week, but I don't trust she'll stay away with her boyfriend. Plus, we missed some other regulars this week, including Zoe... where the hell did she run off to?

Maybe she's finally doing what teenagers do. Even smart people have
    urges.
