Burn Notice, USA, Airs Thursday 10pm

Episode: Do No Harm (Season 2, Episode 10)

Synopsis: Last we saw Michael Westen, he just barely avoided being reduced to many small, smoking bits by an explosion that rocked his apartment. Fresh from his brush with death and only a little worse for wear, Michael immediately sets upon a case involving medical swindlers who took $250,000 from a father attempting to find a cure for his very ill son. An opportunity also arises for our favorite burned spy to get a leg up on those that burned him.

Review: Burn Notice is back and in a big way. Thanks to a USA Network marathon, a DVR, and some free time, I managed to get refreshed on everything that happened in Season 2 leading up to the premiere episode. Burn Notice is one of those rare shows that are good enough that I don’t mind sitting there for 5 hours watching it. Show me a 5 hour movie or a marathon of most other shows, and I’m out of there.

This spy thriller stays fresh in large part due to the characters, both in how they’re written and how they’re acted. Bruce Campbell is always on fire, and he gets to play interrogator again this episode, which is always fun. Big things also await Jeffrey Donovan, who is one of the coolest spies in spy history.

If you haven’t been watching, catch up. If you’re a fan, you’ve no doubt enjoyed this first episode back. Each storyline continues to be engaging all on its own, no matter what the cast entails. The run-through story of who burned Michael and why is also interesting, and some new things are thrown into the mix in this episode – notably another mysterious party, looking to get in on some explosive action. Like always, Burn Notice brings the heat with strong performances, good stories, and fun spy action.
