Battlestar Galactica, SciFi, Airs Friday 10/9c
Episode: “No Exit” (Season Four, Episode 17)
Synopsis: With the Galactica mutiny squelched, Adama is trying to pick up the pieces. Thanks to Tyrol, they discover structural integrity problems with Galactica, and Adama has to make special efforts to return the ship to safety. Meanwhile, we learn the fate of the final Cylon. She was resurrected 18 months ago when she died in the fleet, and the Number One model named John Cavil is threatening to tear her apart to rediscover the secret of resurrection. Also, the bullet that Sam took to the brain in the mutiny has opened up his memories of Earth and reveals new secrets to Kara and the other four Cylon models.
Review: Another awesome episode of “Battlestar Galactica,” folks. This episode reminded me of why I love this show, similar to why I love “Lost” so much. Even though it has seemed that the showrunners have been pulling plot points out of their asses for four years, things are seeming to really come to a head.
I’m fascinated by the fifth Cylon. She seems to be the queen bee mother of the other Cylons, and this is why John is so threatened by her. Between her discussions with John and the revelations that are emerging from Sam’s injury, it looks like we’re heading for a spectacular ending.
It was great to give some play to Boomer again, since she has been lost in a see of Eights for the last year or two. I find her character fascinating in the changes she’s made in attitude and loyalty. It’s awesome that she’s getting back into the mix, and I love where they’re going with the final Cylon considering everything that has happened in the past. I’ll have to dig out all the old episodes of her boinking John Cavil during the mess on New Caprica. I’m sure there’s some hidden things in their conversations back then.
Additionally, I love the oppressive feeling of inevitability there is surrounding the show for how the Cylons are infiltrating the fleet. In the end, I believe it will play out that the humans will need the Cylons as much as the Cylons need them.
Finally, did you notice the awesome new opening with the retro toasters? Love it!
Up Next: The final Cylon returns to Galactica, and the Final Five will have a decision to make about their future with the fleet.
