had a feeling that when the season started off with such excitement back to back weeks, it had to slow up to catch its breath. It just ended up being at the end of the season. I LOVED the look Renee Warren gave Kim when she was talking techie about CTU. Priceless. Chloe and Janis moment was nice as was Tony telling Jack that he (Tony) was the real hero who saved more lives than Jack. Well done. The President was cool as well, I am just over her daughter. Go away why don't you. And when Renee is about to kick some butt at the end, after her conversation with Jack was another good moment. All in all , a soft ending to a very strong season. I will watch next season, but as said above, I don't see it going any longer than one more season.

i think one interesting direction to go would be in the past. from what i can remember, Jack used to be a Delta Force operator. maybe a season could be shown for a day in one of his "missions". the first season's plot was driven by Jack's delta mission which was commissioned by then-Senator Palmer, so it could be nice to explore that area of jack's life and give the show a different feel from the standard urbanized, technology driven settings we've come to expect out of 24. I found that during the 24 Redemption special, the rural scenes in african jungle were the most engaging (but to be honest, the scenes in Washington were never intended to be the main plot of that special).

anyway, some problems i could see are: 1. Kiefer Sutherland looking as a young Jack Bauer (but suspension of disbelief on that shouldn't be a problem) 2. The show would be good to include David Palmer and his role as a Senator and 3. Linking with point 2, Dennis Haysbert is still on the Unit at CBS and that show itself is modelled after Delta Force.

Nonetheless, a 24 episode covert ops mission would be kinda cool. What do you guys think?

When I was watching last night, I hadn't heard that it was the season finale. (I wasn't paying attention too much, and the second hour would of gave it away, anyway) I found out when I saw the commercial for today's dvd release of season 7. But, say if I never found out that it was the finale, I would of assumed there was another episode after this one. The ending wasn't exciting at all.

I LOVED this season. Yes its farfetched BUT as an outright entertainment it WORKED bigtime. The two hr final worked for me and I must admit when Kim Bauer goes after that guy at the airport It made my adreneline flow. I say it was 24's BEST season ever. Just about everyone I know thinks so also.

We're going to be reviewing the last two hours this evening in our recorded "24Podcast" and I'll be sure to stop back by and toss a link through. I really enjoyed your review because - frankly - it's too easy to say "the season redeemed itself". Is this a BETTER season than last? Without question. Were there still hopes, failures and "what ifs?" Absolutely. i look forward to more spirited debate as we go along and thanks for the review! The 2 Guys at 24Podcast.Com

Couldn't agree more with the fact the the first 3/4 of the season were quite thrilling and entertaining. I really did feel like it was slowing down these last couple episodes. Yet, of course I shall be tuning in for the next season and I do hope they end it there though cause it is getting a bit out of hand now.
