Sons of Anarchy is a single-camera drama on FX about a California based biker gang. The show has been met with huge success and will enter its third season this year. Starring Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam, the show takes a look at the real world crime life of outlaw biker gangs, while at the same time delivering the story of Hamlet.

In case you’re new to the series here’s what you missed… And what’s ahead.

Where We Left Off: Last season was an emotional tail spin for the club. Between Gemma’s rape, Opie learning the truth behind Donna’s death, Jax’s attempts to legitimize the club’s business ventures, Gemma being framed for murder, Luann’s murder, Zoebell’s attempts to destroy SAMCRO, an exploding minivan, Half-Sack’s death and Abel’s kidnapping, I’m amazed everyone didn’t just go boom last year. Well, a few of them did anyway.

It was truly an amazing season and one met with great viewer and critical acclaim. Well deserved at that.

What’s Ahead: Last year Sons of Anarchy pushed the envelope on heart wrenching television, and the envelope pushed back. But this year, they push harder. I had the opportunity to watch the upcoming premiere of season 3 and boy, it’s amazing what this show is able to pull of in forty minutes.

We join Jax and the rest of the Charming charter a few days after Abel’s kidnapping. And as you would imagine, Jax is distraught, and emotionally lost. By the end of the episode he’s going to be forced to make a choice. Show the rest of the SOA that he can lead them and will do anything to get his son back, or step out of the way.

Everyone in law enforcement will make an attempt to find Abel and Gemma this season. But the real fight for survival is between Clay and Stahl. Clay lays it all out on the table for Stahl, and she will be left with only one option for sake of herself, and everyone around her.

We also learn the current fate of Gemma. She’s still on the lamb with Tig at her side. But Gemma, for the good of the club will stop at nothing to break away from her SOA escorts. All leading up to a moment that will change the show forever. Before the episode is over, you will learn the roots of Gemma Teller Morrow.

This season will also put Deputy Hale in the hot seat as Chief of Police. And let me tell you, this is the move we have all been waiting for. This is the one thing that can bring SAMCRO down, for good. And by the end of the premiere, his decisions will reach a tipping point for everyone.

I can’t say much, but I can promise you this… By the end of the episode, you won’t want to know anything else.

The third season of Sons of Anarchy premiers 10pm, Tuesday, Sept. 7th on FX
