is it that everyone only remembers the Robin characterized by Bert Ward???

as a long time comic book reader (which began w/ Batman), I have come to appreciate the Nightwing series... to the point where I think Nightwing is easily an equal to Batman... I remember being more please w/ the writing of Nightwing (big part due to Chuck Dixon),especially after DC made the mistake of bringing JT back in the Batman series...

this could be good if they did a little drama piece w/ his family, up to the point where they are murdered... Then have Bruce come in, continue his training; and then jump ahead 10 years where Grayson tells Bruce to f'off and continues onto his own path...

but of course w/ that said, I have little faith that they will do justice to the character, they will probably mess it up like the did w/ "Birds of Prey"...

(Supeman walks in the door holding Robins gay-ass by the ear)
Superman: Robin, how many times do I have to tell your gay-ass not to get tied up to slow moving conveyor belts?
Robin: I'm sorry guys, Im- I'm so sorry.
Supeman: Go to your corner.
(Robin sits in corner next to Aquaman)
Robin: what did you do?
Aquaman: I tried to stop a speeding locomotive with a school of fish. Hundreds dead.

Sweet Jeebus. What do people think about these days? They couldn't find a lamer non-superhero to make a show about? Seriously, I really don't need a backstory to the gay kid that gets tied up a bunch. Here's an excerpt from unnaired episode of the Super Friends.

Batman: "Team! Robins in trouble!
Wonder Woman (rolls eyes): Is it Tuesday already?
Aquaman: Yea. Is it Tuesday alr- Superman: Shut up, Aqua-douche. Let me guess, Batman... Robins loosely tied up on a slow moving conveyor belt towards a saw blade?
Aquaman: Yea, let me guess-
Superman: I said shut up Aquaman! You're out of your element!

This is going to be a huge failure. Why would anyone want to watch this? He doesn't have super powers, he doesn't get into being a super hero until after his parents death, and it's not in the circus. So this is going to be just like any other teen high school drama. Why not set it in a circus and they could travel and find villians in different cities? (but that would probably suck also). I might be interrested in watching Batman train a young Robin and molding him into a sidekick, but still, it's Robin.
