O.K. all you fanboys hawking up joy balls over The Incredible Hulk this weekend, there’s something coming for fangirls, too. Kiefer Sutherland will be back as Jack Bauer, the world’s most intense hero, in the prequel of 24, airing this fall, and he’ll face a one-time movie hero and Oscar winner as Season 7’s uber-villain who masterminds a new terrorist threat. We’re talking Jon Voight.
Voight will continue his role when the regular series resumes in January 2009.
Not since Dennis Hopper was cast as Serbian nationalist, Victor Drazen, in Season 1, has 24 cast such an A-List star.
Four-time Academy Award nominee Voight hasn’t done a television series in 40 years, according to Variety, not since a three-part Gunsmoke back when Lincoln was president. Then came Midnight Cowboy, and Voight’s fame shot up into space like Gonzo’s ashes.
24 prequel is currently on location shooting in South Africa, scheduled to air November 23rd.
