Woody Allen’s Vicky Christina Barcelona Trailer Wants to Lick Your Face
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on May 13, 2008

I don’t know about all of you, but I find something inherently interesting in a movie that features a bunch of incredibly beautiful people making out all over one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Such is the case with Woody Allen’s upcoming flick Vicky Christina Barcelona. We’ve already told you to keep an eye on it, as it potentially features Oscar winner Javier Bardem in a threesome with notable beauties Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, but it appears that we were only getting the tip of the iceberg at that point.
It also appears that Woody Allen is becoming a very dirty old man, as his films in recent years (such as Match Point) have gotten considerably sexier. Vicky Christina Barcelona, as seen in the new trailer below, seems to further that theory.
Vicky Christina Barcelona will make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival later this week. It is scheduled for a limited release in the US on August 29th.

Oh yeah, ’cause that clears everything up. Especially the gun shot at the end.
Who made this? A USC film undergrad?

I heard Robert Fure made it.

What’s the first rule they teach you in production? Don’t play music over the whole film. What’s this movie about besides being sexy? Oh, and after No Country for Old Men, I’m not sure I want to see Javier Bardem in bed.

To the assorted morons above: this is not an official trailer - rather, it’s a collection of snippets put together for distributors at a North American film market some time ago.

Oh, no, I’m there with you, Fielding. I can also assure you there’s nothing assorted about us.
I stand by my comment, though. Boring and confusing are still boring and confusing whether you are trying to sell to an audience or to distro. Plus, the music sounds like something Vivaldi farted out while he was sitting around thinking highly of himself.
Sounds perfect for Cannes, though.
