The Doogie, later in How I Met Your Mother showed a tlaent heretofor unexhibited. He did a wonderfou job. I have been a fan of Sweeny Todd for several years and found this operatic presentation delightful. The San Franceisco Symphony Orchestra and Choral group provided a musical backdrop that complemented the whole production. I would recommend it to all those who know the story of “Sweeny Todd”.

The only thing that could possibly concern me is the thought of too many nasty sex scenes between Sweeney and Lovett when they should be playing that card with the Judge Turpin.

They probably won’t do this, largely due to the fact that Burton might be scared of Helena running off with Johnny if she so much as sees him topless, let alone naked.

But never the less there is the distinct possibility for a love scen between Sweeney and Lovett when, if anyone’s seen the musical, Sweeney obviously isn’t interested in her.

Anyway one goes to see Sweeney Todd to see depraved violence, not vast amounts of sex.

I had no idea we had so many opera fans on FSR. When I first heard Sweeney Todd/Tim Burton/Johnny Depp/HBC I thought it was going to be incredible. I didn’t realize there would be singing, though, for some reason.

The few times Mr. Depp’s sings in the trailer of “Sweeney Todd” one has the misfortune of hearing a very thin voice and an actor painfully speaking through what most certainly should be sung richly and fully.
Perhaps, Tim Burton and Mr. Depp should next team up and butcher Puccini’s “Turandot” -
