What do you get when you take an awesome adult, science fiction fantasy comic and mix it liberally with James Cameron, David Fincher, Zack Snyder, Gore Verbinski, and Mark Osborne? A Heavy Metal movie that might actually kick ass.

When Watchmen came out just two months ago, wasn’t everyone walking out the theater wishing that it was even fucking longer than it was? Didn’t think so.

A little research was required before writing this article, as I haven’t written much about actress Emily Browning since she played the wide-eyed little girl in Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. I needed to make sure that she was over the age of 18 before I made lewd comments about her.

The folks at Warner Premiere have provided us with three new high resolution images from Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter, which hits DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, March 24th.

Until we elevate truly groundbreaking films to the top of the theatrical totem pole, Hollywood will continue to sing the same song. If past is prologue then it appears we will continue to hum along.
