SXSW 2012 Interview: Bobcat Goldthwait Wants You to Act Nice with ‘God Bless America’
Features By Jack Giroux on March 15, 2012 | Be the First To CommentIf you say bro, give high fives, call your boobs “the girls,” or talk like Juno, writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait will shoot you in the face…or at least his sad, funny, and sweet leads will, Frank and Roxy. Underneath the dark concept and inherent sadness of God Bless America, there’s a well-intentioned message most of us can all get behind: just act nice. Frank (Joel Murray) and Roxy (Tara Lynne Barr) go on a killing spree, taking out the scum of the world. Rob Hunter loves movies. He also loves rescuing dolphins from culturally misguided Japanese fishermen. These two joys come together in the form of cash money payments that he receives every week and immediately uses to buy more DVDs.

The 13 Best Films of Sundance 2009
Cinematic Listology By Neil Miller on January 30, 2009 | Comments (12)Before I made my trip to Park City, Utah for the 2009 Sundance Film Festival I gave you a list of the 13 films I was most interested in seeing. And now that I’ve come and gone, surviving another year in the hustle and bustle of America’s great festival, it is my duty to bookend my coverage with a list of the best films of this year’s fest.

Robin Williams + Teen Suicide = Comedy Gold With World’s Greatest Dad
In Development By Rob Hunter on July 17, 2008 | Be the First To CommentRobin Williams takes chances. Sure he makes pablum like RV, License to Wed, and Patch Adams, but he also takes creative risks with projects like The Night Listener, The Final Cut, and One Hour Photo. This next flick however, is something altogether different.
