After the debacle that was Speed Racer’s opening weekend, it appears that Warner Brothers may be ready to kick marketing for The Dark Knight into high gear.

Our most dedicated readers will remember that not too long ago, we posted a leaked version of the trailer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This new version looks awfully similar, don’t you think?

Warner Brothers has made significant changes this week to its independent houses. And by changes, we mean that they are gone… Just gone.

The verdict is still out on Speed Racer, the next film from The Wachowski Brothers. Will it be as cool as The Matrix? We can’t be sure, just yet. But as for what we can see in this brand new trailer, we are at least interested in seeing more.

We want our movies to cover new ground. Going to see a movie that only achieves what others have done before is like seeing a rerun of a television show where your favorite characters have been replaced by strangers. It’s admittedly difficult to create something truly original – to connect to an audience in a new way – but Chaos Theory does this in leaps and bounds.
Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds) is an efficient man. He lives his life by making to-do lists and completing them, checking off each moment as a task to finish and sharing his methods in corporate speaking events. One morning, his wife Susan (Emily Mortimer) sets the clocks so that he’s ten minutes behind schedule, and the shift creates a chain of events that drastically changes his career and his relationships with his wife, daughter (Matrya Fedor) and best friend Buddy (Stuart Townsend).
As with most good movies, a synopsis doesn’t do it justice. It seems on the surface as the classic tale of a stuffy guy who learns to let go and live life to the fullest, but Chaos Theory just isn’t as happy as all that. We are officially hooked on Ryan Reynolds’ latest film Chaos Theory. And in order to get you hooked on it as well, we will happily stoop to bribery, shenanigans and otherwise dubious promotional tactics in order to get you hooked as well. We will start with bribery…

Today we got some cool news from the Tribeca Press office that the festival, which was founded in 2001 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, will close with The Wachowski’s tripped out, CGI-infused cartoon adaptation Speed Racer.

It is worth saying though, that you can’t take these lame teaser posters into account when you look at this film. Based on everything we’ve seen so far, I have the feeling that Get Smart is going to rock. Call it intuition, call it blind faith in director Peter Segal, call it whatever you want, but I have a good feeling about this film — and you should, too.

Warner Bros. closing in on a deal to turn Josh Lieb’s upcoming novel I Am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want to Be Your Class President into a film with McG on as producer. The film, about a rich boy running for middle-school class president and meanwhile staging a political coup de tat in Central America, does not have a director attached just yet.

I can’t believe that it has gotten to a point where there are pre-orders on a movie t-shirt, but hey The Dark Knight is a pretty big deal.
