Casting Couch: New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Rumors Regarding Drax the Destroyer, Tom Selleck Wants to Get the Band Back Together, and More
Casting Couch By Nathan Adams on January 4, 2013 | Be the First To CommentThe deluge of rumors concerning James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy continues unabated. This time around the source is Comic Book Movie, who says they have a shadowy operative close to the production and his or her latest round of snooping has led them to believe that not only is The Office’s John Krasinski the latest in a parade of actors to read for the role of Peter Quell, but that there’s also a shortlist of actors being considered for the role of the Guardians’ resident green guy, Drax the Destroyer. Rumor has it that Generation Kill actor Brian Patrick Wade; that guy from the Old Spice commercials, Isaiah Mustafa; and former professional wrestler Dave Bautista are all being looked at. Presumably they’re in some Hollywood back lot right now, letting Gunn take test footage of them destroying things.

It’s a time to take a break from our busy lives and revel in the one thing that we all share: a deep, passionate love of movies. If you have a question you’d like answered by the FSR readers and staff, send us an email at editors@filmschoolrejects.com. Who’s career would you change? There are so many actors who had great potential that made too many wrong choices or just fell into a rut. With a time machine, who would you save and advise to take that role they passed on? Like, C. Thomas Howell–so great in The Outsiders & That Night, but maaaaybe Soul Man wasn’t the best choice. – Sara F.
