We haven’t talked much about Frank Miller’s upcoming film The Spirit in a while — and today is step one toward getting back on board with The Spirit — maybe.

When Lionsgate brought Frank Miller’s The Spirit to Comic-Con this year, it was in hopes that it would be embraced by true comic fans as just another great step in the world of adaptations. Unfortunately, it doesn’t all seem to be going as planned.

Throughout the weekend and into early next week we are going to do our best to bring you up to speed on what to expect when we bring you our live coverage from Comic-Con 2008. We begin with a few big ones…

The full event schedule for Comic-Con International 2008 has finally been released online via the official Comic-Con website. And just to give you a taste of what you should be looking out for, I have dug into the schedule and emerged with some of the can’t miss movie geek events.

One of our readers just sent us over a brand new poster for the upcoming Frank Miller-directed comic adaptation The Spirit that has popped up over on Yahoo. The poster, like the most recent teaser from the NY Comic Con, features Eva Mendes as Sand Saref.

Frank Miller gets out in front of his critics, promising fans that The Spirit will not only be unlike Sin City, but it will also be an awesome film.

Lionsgate decides not to dump off Frank Miller’s highly anticipated directorial work in January, moving it over to be a comic-geek’s perfect Christmas gift.
