It wasn’t enough that almost $3.9 Billion in ticket sales were generated this summer, Disney and Universal are looking to prepare us for the next big DVD releases as well.

Over the past couple of weeks, honchos over at Warner Brothers, such as Jeff Robinov and Kevin McCormick have been meeting with DC comics executives to discuss a potential new direction for DC Film adapatations.

The story at the top is that WALL-E did exactly the kind of business it was expected to do: it made $62 million for the third-best opening of the entire year so far. But it wasn’t the runaway victory that everyone expected.

It came as no surprise to hear from First Showing that The Incredible Hulk director, Louis Leterrier, is moving on to his next project, a remake of the classic Clash of the Titans.

The scene of the crime is Lowell, Mass. Bereaved fans are awaiting a ransom call from the kidnappers of The Incredible Hulk.

This past Wednesday, Marvel Studios’ cinematic adaptation of the classic comic book hero Iron Man officially became the first film of 2008 to hit, and then to surpass, the $300 million-dollar mark at the box office.

Coming off a weekend of positive buzz and strong reviews, The Incredible Hulk director, Louis Leterrier has told the MTV Movies Blog that if he gets to helm the sequel, he’ll leave it up to the fans to decide who the green menace faces in the next installment.

Ironically, the opening for this Incredible Hulk was a bit lower than the $62 million the previous Hulk brought in during its open– a sure sign that people were scared off by bad buzz and the stench left over from the previous Ang Lee effort. Not exactly Hulk-a-mania at the theaters.

In the tradition of X-Men and Spider-Man, this version of The Incredible Hulk is a solid adaptation for the big screen that retains its comic book feel.
