As was the case last year, we will be sending our intrepid (and cynical) Rob Hunter to the San Francisco WonderCon to stake things out, make decisive analysis about upcoming movies and, if he’s lucky, offend someone very famous and end up on the evening news.

Just in case we needed something to help us sober up after a long afternoon of drinking — hug it, chug it, football style — the lovely folks over at South by Southwest have dropped upon us their full lineup for the upcoming 2009 edition of their film festival.

The first international trailer for Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker has made its way onto the web. And without spoiling anything, we would like to say that it is wicked intense.

As Jeff Wells points out in the blog post introducing the poster to the right, it is hard to say whether or not this is an approved one-sheet for Kathryn Bigelow’s Iraq War drama The Hurt Locker, but it certainly gets its point across.

One particular film that has caught my eye during Oscar season is Kathyrin Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker. Inspired by true events and recently declassified information, it follows an elite Army Explosives Disposal team in present-day Baghdad that fights an onslaught of bombs and snipers.
