Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Want To Invite You To a ‘Sausage Party’
Movie News By Cole Abaius on January 14, 2011 | Be the First To CommentDepending on what image just popped into your fragile mind, this might exactly what you thinking or the exact opposite. But probably nothing in between. If you imagined, “a Rated-R, super dirty, mockery of a Pixar movie about sausages in a supermarket that need to get back to their aisle before the fourth of July,” then you were right, because that’s how screenwriter Evan Goldberg described the project (one of many) that he and Seth Rogen are currently working on. Goldberg spoke to ScreenRant recently about The Green Hornet, not seeing The Godfather III, his hesitation about making Pineapple Express 2, and about the possibilities of seeing their hockey movie The Goon and movie about Jay and Seth battling against the Apocalypse (Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse) ending up as actual words on paper. However, the project that caught my attention the most was the animated potential of seeing a bunch of filthy sausages go on an adventure in the dairy aisle. Sounds great, right?
Movie News After Dark: Captain America!, Brooklyn Decker’s Reshoots and Jackass Inception
Movie News By Neil Miller on January 14, 2011 | Be the First To CommentWhat is Movie News After Dark? This is a question that I am almost never asked, but I will answer it for you anyway. Movie News After Dark is FSR’s newest late-night secretion, a column dedicated to all of the news stories that slip past our daytime editorial staff and make it into my curiously chubby RSS ‘flagged’ box. It will (but is not guaranteed to) include relevant movie news, links to insightful commentary and other film-related shenanigans. I may also throw in a link to something TV-related here or there. It will also serve as my place of record for being both charming and sharp-witted, but most likely I will be neither of the two. I write this shit late at night, what do you expect?
Review: The Great and Terrible ‘Green Hornet’
Movie Review By Cole Abaius on January 13, 2011 | Comments (4)The thing about broccoli is that it’s disgusting at first. When you’re a child, your young taste buds only want sugar and chocolate and that meatloaf that only your mom can make. Often you want all of these things at the same time. But as you get older, your taste matures and you suddenly find yourself with dozens of recipes that make broccoli a completely worthwhile vegetable that’s welcome on any plate. Hell, sometimes it even surprises you – blowing your taste buds away in a flavor explosion. The Green Hornet is cinematic broccoli.
Movie News After Dark: ‘Star Wars’ Legos, ‘Battle: Los Angeles’ Brilliance and ‘Simpsons’ Porn

Movie News By Neil Miller on January 11, 2011 | Comments (1)Gather ’round my friends for the column that never ends. You’ll be delighted by the insights, come inside, come inside… Alright fine. But I get points for trying. Another round of movie news is about to be in your face just after the break. This evening we explore the blood-splattering of everyone’s favorite blood-spatter analyst, Morgan Spurlock’s meta-movie, a Wicked show with no music, fiction from a movie blogger and the big bad guy from The Green Hornet, among other shenanigans. It’s Movie News After Dark!
We realize that you’re probably sitting at home right now, chewing your own nails off and wondering what movies are coming out this month. Maybe you’re even wondering why no one on the entire internet has said anything about them. Strange, we know. Fortunately, Rob Hunter and Cole Abaius spent the entire month of December combing through Wikileaks, calling Cleo, and building balsa wood trailers to make sure that you, dear reader, are in the know about what’s coming out in January. You watch movies, so this guide’s for you.
Color Coded Posters for ‘Red State’ and ‘Green Hornet’
Movie News By Cole Abaius on November 1, 2010 | Be the First To CommentSince Halloween is over, people are already decorating for Christmas because Thanksgiving never got around to choosing official colors. To get in that holiday spirit, we’ve got a look at two new movie posters that are painting the town green and red. The first is for Kevin Smith’s long-promised horror film about religious zealots, Red State. The other is for the Seth Rogen-starring adaptation of the classic television show, Green Hornet. Deck the halls. It’s November.
Discuss: Has Comic-Con Coverage Changed Your Mind About Any Movies?
Comic-Con 2011 By Cole Abaius on July 28, 2010 | Comments (6)Last weekend was the crucible of Comic-Con, and no fewer than one billion trillion news stories came out of the convention aimed directly at your sensibilities as an audience member. We weren’t the only site on the block that had coverage of course, and hopefully you read more than a few of our peers (because there really are some great sites out there). You were most likely inundated with new information about the movies hitting theaters soon or in the next year. Did any of it change your mind? Was there a movie you were dying to see that you cooled on? Was there a movie that landed on your radar for the first time? Is your confidence renewed in anything?
Video Interview: Evan Goldberg Talks Gondry and ‘The Green Hornet’
Comic-Con 2011 By Jack Giroux on July 28, 2010 | Be the First To CommentThe Green Hornet isn’t getting the buzz it deserves. It’s a Michel Gondry superhero film – how does that not draw excitement? Or how about the fact it’s written by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen? They both share writing credits for Pineapple Express and Superbad which are, arguably, the best Apatow produced features. It’s an odd combination for sure, but at least it sounds and looks different than most superhero films currently in the pipeline. While the first trailer wasn’t the show stopper it should have been, it shouldn’t tamper one’s excitement. The one thing I really wanted to know, though: how much of a Michel Gondry film will this be? That’s one of the many things I asked Golberg when I sat down with him last week at Comic-Con.
Boiling Point: In Defense of the Nerd Kingdom
Boiling Point By Robert Fure on July 19, 2010 | Comments (4)In honor of Hung’s usage of two titles per episode, this week’s Boiling Point is actually called In Defense of the Nerd Kingdom or How Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg Wrote the Weakest, Most Uninspired Comic Con Article of All Time. You can see how the the second title is a bit long. You may also be asking yourself “what exactly is this moron talking about?” Well, when the San Diego Comic Convention rolls around, the biggest of its kind, you can always count on a few articles or arguments against it. They’re generally playful, but my problem is that they’re vastly unoriginal and mostly unwarranted. No doubt you’ve already read some article that says something along the lines of “Nerds smell and need deodorant.” Usually its said like “Memo: Nerds, put down your dice and figure out the magic spell of deodorant.” Actually, that’s too clever, but you get the point.
‘The Green Hornet’ Trailer Arrives, Seth Rogen Kicks Ass
Movie News By Neil Miller on June 21, 2010 | Comments (7)There’s a title I didn’t think I would ever write. But it’s true — the new trailer for The Green Hornet is upon us, and Seth Rogen actually appears to kick some ass. A resident stoner funnyman, Rogen was an interesting choice for the film’s hero, but once again he and writing partner Evan Goldberg appear to have delivered something fun. And unexpectedly, there also appears to be some wicked action in it.
‘The Green Hornet’ Appears, Brings Promise of a Trailer
Movie News By Neil Miller on June 21, 2010 | Comments (2)The first images of Seth Rogen and Jay Chou in The Green Hornet have appeared online. And with them come the promise of a little bit of action and a lot less (literally) Seth Rogen. They also mean that a trailer will not be far behind, as the marketing machine is gearing up.
The 30 Most Anticipated Movies of 2010
Cinematic Listology By Cole Abaius on January 14, 2010 | Comments (47)You can open your eyes now. 2009 is gone, and it’s not coming back. It’s time to move forward, onward and upward, and what better way to start than with the movies we’re most looking forward, onward and upward to?
Reject Radio: Episode 21: Old Enough To Drink
Movie News By Cole Abaius on October 12, 2009 | Be the First To CommentThis week, on a very special episode of Reject Radio, we talk about homosexuality in film (to celebrate National Coming Out Day), awkwardly discuss the all-nude fighting of Bronson (because it’s awesome), and explore the hardest part about rollerblading.
Anvil Takes a Step Toward Oscar, Rocks Out in ‘Green Hornet’
Movie News By Neil Miller on October 9, 2009 | Comments (3)First we rock, then we go out and get those Oscar votes, then we rock Michel Gondry’s Green Hornet movie so hard that it explodes! That’s the plan for the aging rockers of Anvil…
Seth Rogen Gets Masked On the Set of ‘The Green Hornet’
Movie News By Bethany Perryman on October 5, 2009 | Comments (6)Funky guns, bulldozers being dropped on cars, and pyrotechnics galore. These are the things that you’ll find in this Splash News video from the set of The Green Hornet.
Reject Radio: Episode 18: Do You Wanna Dance?
Movie News By Cole Abaius on September 17, 2009 | Comments (5)This week on a very special episode of Reject Radio that we forgot to post earlier in the week, I name more than 5 great Stephen King film adaptations and make Robert Fure look like the fool he is, we take a look at Sorority Row, and Diane Lane looks great in a cop uniform.
Christoph Waltz to Ask for Glass of Milk on ‘Green Hornet’ Set
Casting Couch By Cole Abaius on September 14, 2009 | Comments (4)After impressing audiences around the world in Inglourious Basterds, it looks like Waltz will be exhausting his English for The Green Hornet.
At this point, I’m wondering if this production can hold on to its actors long enough to get them in front of a camera. Especially since the camera is already running.
‘Tron’ To Do Battle with ‘Smurfs’ and ‘Green Hornet’
Movie News By Cole Abaius on September 3, 2009 | Comments (5)The must-awaited Tron: Legacy has an official release date for December 2010. And it has some competition.
