Movie News After Dark: Ghostbusters are Back, Samuel L. Jackson is Unchained, ‘Dark Knight’ Action Fails, and Thor is a Feminist
Features By Cole Abaius on September 14, 2011 | Be the First To CommentWhat is Movie News After Dark? It’s a collection of news that fell through the cracks, will make you crack up, or that’s addicted to crack. How can movie news be addicted to a controlled substance? It’s unclear, but it’s a harsh world out there when the sun goes down. We begin tonight with the vague news that Ghostbusters (the original) will be hitting theaters again in October. No, not a version of Ghostbusters III that’s been secretly filming for the past year amidst empty press releases. The original flick will play. But when? Where? The movie’s Facebook page is short on answers, and when I checked with Columbia/Sony, so were they.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Want To Invite You To a ‘Sausage Party’
Movie News By Cole Abaius on January 14, 2011 | Be the First To CommentDepending on what image just popped into your fragile mind, this might exactly what you thinking or the exact opposite. But probably nothing in between. If you imagined, “a Rated-R, super dirty, mockery of a Pixar movie about sausages in a supermarket that need to get back to their aisle before the fourth of July,” then you were right, because that’s how screenwriter Evan Goldberg described the project (one of many) that he and Seth Rogen are currently working on. Goldberg spoke to ScreenRant recently about The Green Hornet, not seeing The Godfather III, his hesitation about making Pineapple Express 2, and about the possibilities of seeing their hockey movie The Goon and movie about Jay and Seth battling against the Apocalypse (Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse) ending up as actual words on paper. However, the project that caught my attention the most was the animated potential of seeing a bunch of filthy sausages go on an adventure in the dairy aisle. Sounds great, right?
‘Goon’ Comic-Con Teaser Will Cause Internal Bleeding
Comic-Con 2011 By Cole Abaius on July 20, 2010 | Be the First To CommentIf you’ve never picked up “The Goon” for a solid Sunday read, you should head to the local comic book store (the one where the owner won’t let you thumb through the pages because it makes them “used”) and pick up the entire series immediately. Actually, volumes 0-3 should be enough for now, but make sure the gas tank is full because you’ll be heading back to the store soon. There’s zombies and skunk-apes and it’s fantastic. News of a film featuring the beloved characters has been around for quite some time, but a very cool teaser trailer made especially for Comic-Con is the first solid proof (beyond a few pieces of concept art) that the film is barreling its way down throats and out back ends. It will be soon enough. Grab a slice of pie and check out the footage:
