Vintage Trailer of the Day: It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)
Features By Scott Beggs on May 7, 2011 | Be the First To CommentThere are some bold claims going on in this trailer. Namely, that anyone who’s ever been funny is in the movie. Plus, the phrases, “whamdoodle,” “humdinger,” and “stem winder,” are involved. Like most of the movie, I have no idea what they mean. It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World really did feature a metric ton of comedic talent including Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Spencer Tracy, Buddy Hackett, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, Phil Silvers, Edie Adams, Jonathan Winters and more cameos than The Hangover can shake a stick at. It was an adventure of a lifetime that was essentially remade as Rat Race years later, but the original is still the best.
