Yesterday I presented you with a list of Five Actresses Who Should Play The Black Cat in Spider-Man 4, and no where on there did I mention Anne Hathaway. That said, it seems as if Marvel and Sony Pictures aren’t listening to me.

If you read a lot of movie blogs, chances are that you’ve seen plenty of suggestions about this week’s top rumor, the question of who should play The Black Cat in Spider-Man 4. You can throw all of those suggestions out the window, because we’ve got our own list of ladies who should be wearing tight outfits and sneaking into NYC banks.

Someone on the inside is talking, and they’re talking about Spider-Man 4. And leave it to us to be last on the block to hear this ice cream truck ‘o fun.

It is safe to assume that the plot details and casting for Sony’s upcoming comic adventure Spider-Man 4 will not be kept secret for too much longer, but we’re still taking rumors with a grain of salt.

Columbia Pictures and the IMAX Corporation are press releasing this morning, letting us know that they will be releasing Spider-Man 4 on May 5, 2011 on the biggest of the big screen formats.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced new release dates for their upcoming projects, culminating with The Avengers in 2012.

I know we don’t like thinking about Spider-Man much these days. That third movie truly put a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth. But with that in mind, I think we need to look at some things that could be positive about Spider-Man sequels.

Sequels are an inevitability for two reasons… greed and a dearth of creativity. It’s a challenge to find a necessary sequel amongst all the crap, or even one that carries the original story to new and exciting places.

May 2011, according to producer Laura Ziskin via The LA Times Blog, is the tentative date for the fourth installment in one of the most successful franchises in history.
