8 Weirdest Ways Musical Performances (By Actual Musicians) Were Disrupted In Movies
Cinematic Listology By David Christopher Bell on March 28, 2013 | Be the First To CommentMusicians have a certain luxury when it comes to films in that they can apparently just show up in them whenever the hell they want. We think it’s cute (and it is) to watch Keith Richards don a pirate face and go staggering around with Johnny Depp so long as we don’t expect him to do much more than that. But in the wake of recent news concerning a particular interruption at a certain Dropkick Murphys show, it might be fun to explore musicians who were both made to seriously work for their cameo roles and to endure some bizarre disruptions. Here are eight of ‘em.

Gemma Arterton Teams with Frears for Graphic Novel Adapt
Casting Couch By Scott Beggs on July 17, 2009 | Be the First To CommentIt looks like Stephen Frears may be drawn again into the politely dry British style story that he’s been into lately with the adaptation of a comic book that’s a modern retelling of “Far From the Madding Crowd.” Or will Gemma Arterton spice things up?
Guy Ritchie has made Horoscope’s cool. In only that way that Guy Ritchie can make British vulgarity cool.

The Ladies of 2008: Ten Babes That Made Their Mark
Cinematic Listology By Adam Sweeney on December 30, 2008 | Comments (40)The 2008 film season brought us beauty in both traditional and unconventional ways. While there has been an argument that leading ladies are few and far between, I think there’s a strong case to be made against that. This list of ten female figures will hopefully offer proof of that.
Box Office: Zack and Miri Make No Money, HSM 3 Wins Again
Box Office By John Cairns on November 2, 2008 | Comments (22)I hope you folks out there enjoyed Halloween, because I sure didn’t. It was a scary weekend to say the least, trying to figure out what was going on at box offices all over North America! On Friday night the attendances were so low it looked like we might get a movie winning at the box office with a haul of under $10 million. In fact, High School Musical 3: Senior Year did so badly on Friday night (only $1,700,000) that it looked as if the box office title was completely up for grabs. Some people thought Saw V (which won Friday with a haul of $3,120,000) or even Changeling might end the weekend on top. Also, the haul for Zack and Miri Make a Porno was so bad on Friday (only $2,220,000) that people were thinking it might only end up with just over $8 million! In any event, things went back to normal on Saturday and Sunday and all the predictions about the order of finish ended up pretty much in the ballpark. HSM 3 made something like $8.2 million on Saturday alone, which pretty much cemented another weekend back on top. As you can see below, though, nobody went to the movies this weekend. The grosses were way off the mark all across the board. High School Musical 3 was down 64.2% from last weekend and Saw V was down 66.4%. Also, Seth Rogen had his worst box-office opening ever with Zack and Miri making only $10.6
