Some art is created for its own sake and some art has a purpose beyond entertainment. Rendition, from director Gavin Hood, definitely falls into the latter category. While an intriguing story in its own right, there is also a timely message that the creators wish to deliver to the audience, and it doesn’t take a subtle mind to detect it. Welcome to my Comeback Week at the Reject Report. Well, at least I hope it’s a comeback week for me with my predictions, since I’ve been getting them wrong lately. And I hope it’s a comeback week for the overall box office as well. But I doubt it. First Look: ‘Rendition’ Video Clip It’s Oscar season again. Can you feel it? Of course you can. The air is getting colder, it is about to snow here in Ohio (not really, but close enough) and studios are already starting to send press sweet DVD screeners. One particular screener that I am interested in receiving from the FedEx guy is Rendition, starring Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Meryl Streep, Peter Sarsgaard and Alan Arkin.
