This week in the world of Blu-ray, we go to the Moon for all mankind, to the end of the Earth with Nic Cage, to the 1980s with Spike Lee and all the way back to the 60s with a group of Mad Men.

I know some box-office pundits will say in their copy “audiences just aren’t that into The Pink Panther 2.” Are you kidding me? Audiences were more than “just” not into this movie — they were really in no mood to see it.

Flashy visuals and a semi-unique premise do not a great action movie make. No matter how cool your idea may be or how much money you sink into the visuals, you still need to invest in characters and story. That is the lesson to be learned from Paul McGuigan’s sci-fi thriller Push.

Neil finally returns to the Magical Studio in the Sky with stories from the land of milk and honey, otherwise known as the Sundance Film Festival. Kevin celebrates the return by berating him for only seeing one movie this week, although Neil defends himself because he saw 143 movies at the festival.

I dunno what to make of the lineup this weekend. To be honest, I’m just not that into the weekend’s movies. If you’re a fanboy, you probably won’t be too thrilled either.

Sure, it may be suspending our disbelief (among other things), but the second theatrical poster for Paul McGuigan’s Push is pretty wicked, is it not? It features Chris Evans’ character Nick using his power to move objects with his mind.

The chaps at Summit Entertainment and Wildstorm/DC Comics will be releasing a comic miniseries, written by Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman; Art by Bruno Redondo. It should help us figure out what this Push movie is all about.
