Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced new release dates for their upcoming projects, culminating with The Avengers in 2012.

After spending something like a minute and a half as Nick Fury after the credits of Iron Man, Sam Jackson was in. He probably didn’t know it at the time, but neither Marvel Studios or the fans would ever let that character go. It’s just how these things go.

Terrance Howard. Sam Jackson. Mickey Rourke. Casualties of financial under-appreciation or whiny over-paid ingrates?

Economic stress at Marvel? Is Sam Jackson not getting the money he wants to play Nick Fury, and if he doesn’t…will he walk? And if he walks…can we replace him with Don Cheadle, too?

It’s official. Samuel L. Jackson will get more than just a cameo in the next Iron Man – hopefully a lot more.
