The producer of Twilight told FearNet recently that he wants Kristen Stewart to star in his remake of the French horror flick, Martyrs. And that’s the least offensive thing he said.

As I mentioned last night when I wrote about the new Scott Pilgrim vs. the World clip, I didn’t watch a moment of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. However, I am told that a few interesting and fun things happened. Tom Cruise out-dressed Jennifer Lopez, Twilight out-awarded its Summit Entertainment cousin The Hurt Locker, and the always funny Ken Jeong out-dressed both Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera. Not bad for the movie world equivalent of the Special Olympics.

Apparently the role in the forthcoming David Fincher film is a highly sought-after prize. Which actresses actually fit the bill?

For about two and a half minutes, this newly released trailer for You Again, a comedy about facing the demons that haunted your adolescence, shows very little promise. Then Betty White shows up, and all is forgotten.

The last installment of the series just got an Oscar pedigree, and sees the return of its entire main cast.

It’s a light week for movies here in the Magical Studio in the Sky. That doesn’t stop the Fat Guys from being The Runaways and having a sweet Date Night.

The Runaways is a faithful representation of a time and place in music history, and features some pretty decent performances from its cast, but with too little to separate it from all the other rock biopics out there, it hasn’t made much of a case for its own existence.

It all begins with a choice, says the poster for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. I’m certain that for some of you — many of our regular readers — that means the choice to completely ignore and avoid Twilight like the plague. And for good reason, there isn’t much in these movies for those who have not already been indoctrinated into the cult of Twilight. Yet for those who are, this concept of “choice” means a lot.

I was able to see The Runaways here at SXSW, which is kind of a cool experience. One minute you are watching some kick-ass girls rock out on the big screen, the next minute you can see some of the impact those girls had on rock n’ roll out on the streets of Austin. I loved the film, and I was pretty excited to be able to speak with the woman behind the curtain. When sitting with The Runaways director Floria Sigismondi I could tell that she was very much in control of how to tell the out of control stories of Cherie Currie and Joan Jett

The Runaways has plenty of components working against it. It’s an independent film that stars Kristen Stewart, who since her work in Twilight has been dismissed by many of us who avoid that series like the plague as a textbook example of the overexposed and the undertalented.

Today, we see the first trailer for Twilight: Eclipse, and it’s mostly just fan service. All of those broody teen superhumans (and unhumans) talking about how much they will fight, if the fight happens. It’s all very romantic, I suppose.

A new music video for the upcoming film The Runaways has been released today, continuing the promotion of this aggressively sexy movie about children (teenagers) singing aggressively sexual songs to throngs of adults. It’s a true story, so it’s okay.

At this point, I feel like I’m making fun of this entire process. Perhaps I’m just trying to point out the absurdity of this marketing ploy — the releasing of a ten-second teaser that is teasing a teaser trailer which will go online tomorrow. It’s a little much, for any movie. The fact that it’s Twilight: Eclipse only makes it easier for the comment section below to get a little rowdy.

There’s no easy way to go about this little piece of news — I’ll just come right out with it. Summit Entertainment has announced that the first trailer for Twilight: Eclipse will debut online on Thursday (March 11) at around 6:00a PST / 9:00a EST. The contents of this 90-second teaser are being kept under wraps until it debuts, but we can tell you this: it will include Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner).

There’s a really dirty joke about teenage girls and soccer moms here somewhere, but I’m resisting out of respect for Twilight fans. In fact, I’ve long thought that their fandom should be commended.

Listen up, Twilighters, because I’m only going to say this once. Nikki Finke has confirmed that the final book in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, “Breaking Dawn,” will be broken into two films.

Here’s something interesting that I learned tonight, following the Sundance press screening of The Runaways. Pedophilia is being sexually attracted to a pre-adolescent. However, there is a word for being attracted to 15-year old Dakota Fanning…

Every year at Sundance, I seem to find that one movie that I just can’t place. It is neither great, nor awful. It is filled with talent and at times, great performances, but it fails to really move me.
