Universal Pictures has released a full-length red band trailer for Judd Apatow’s upcoming comedy Funny People today, which fails to feel very red band, but does deliver some laughs.

The folks behind Funny People have made a very funny fake sitcom featuring Jason Schwartzman’s character from the movie. Get ready to bring back that nostalgia for late 80s, early 90s classroom television.

Fan favorite College Humor has provided an excellent musical rendition of exactly how things work in the Apatow world. Turns out that that world revolves around the schlubby, slightly overweight guy getting the girl that’s way out of his league despite his quirky job and odd band of friends.

Courtesy of the fine people at Vanity Fair is a gallery titled “Comedy’s New Legends,” which features some beautifully-inspired photography of whom VF considers to be the important cultural heroes of contemporary comedy, with a brief discussion of how and why they have attained that status.

Questioning whether they should remake it or not doesn’t matter anymore. It’s happening. Now we have to figure out if Apatow’s normal casting methods will work for these characters.
