Nicholas Stoller knocked it out of the park with Jason Segal in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He then seemed to save the best bits for P. Diddy in Get Him to the Greek. That second attempt was a mixed bag, but that scientifically proves that Segal is the key to success. Thus, the forthcoming Five-Year Engagement will be comedy gold. The movie shows the highs and lows of a couple, played by Emily Blunt and Segal, and according to Variety, Community‘s Alison Brie is joining the cast as Blunt’s younger sister. She’ll, of course, have to rock a British accent. No word yet on whether she’ll call in Geoffrey Rush to help with it. It’s undoubtedly a great addition to a project that already sounds fantastic. With any luck, it’ll have the right blend of drama and comedy that made Sarah Marshall work and will leave out any awkward threesomes that made Get Him to the Greek fail. Speaking of awkward Eiffel Towers, this marks the second time Stoller will work with a leading lady from Mad Men as Elizabeth Moss was in Greek. If that trend continues, we’ll be hearing about January Jones and Christina Hendricks joining his next. If that’s the case, there’s a ton of internet fanfic to choose from for the adaptation.

Remember when you used to like Cameron Diaz? I know, it’s probably been a while, but there was actually a time when she enhanced a film rather than turned it into something you dreaded. The last time she was actually appealing in a film was in the still fantastic My Best Friend’s Wedding. Which came out in 1997. But she is awesome in this new red-band trailer for Jake Kasdan’s upcoming comedy Bad Teacher. Check out the trailer after the jump and tell me if I’m wrong.

The Muppet Movie is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated movies since the last movie featuring the lovable felt scamps, and now it’s even better. According to The Playlist, Bret McKenzie – a member of New Zealand’s 4th most popular folk parody duo – will be acting as music supervisor for the film as well as penning some songs for it. This is a fantastic marriage. McKenzie has the sort of childlike wonder and ridiculous instrumental prowess that could churn out some truly great songs to be sung by hands inside artistically shaped cloth. Hopefully he’ll suggest a massive ensemble of Mahna Mahna.

Few people can capture the human soul inside soft fabric puppets in photography. Your cousin that keeps trying in his basement can’t, but apparently the on-set photographer for The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made definitely can. These photos are so haunting that it also makes you forget that Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt have both been announced as cameo figures for the film. Fingers crossed for a Gervais/Rizzo duet. First it was called The Greatest Muppet Movie Of All Time, then it was awash in a world of no title, and now it seems to simply be called The Muppets. No matter, though. A Muppet Movie by any other name would still smell like Animal and still be the best ensemble cast of the year. The rabid percussionist is drumming his brains out in this first promotional photo for the movie that won’t strike theaters until Christmas of next year, and for some reason, iProduct Placement has wriggled its way in as well. It’s great to see Jason Segal, and it’s great to see all those familiar faces. Christmas 2011 can’t get here fast enough.
