‘Jack and Diane’ Trailer Starts Crazy-Sweet But Gets Crazy-Scary
Movie News By Nathan Adams on July 24, 2012 | Comments (1)At first glance, Jack and Diane looks like a coming-of-age movie about two young girls exploring their sexuality and trying to find their identities – which would have been just fine on its own (there hasn’t been a good movie about a young girl’s erotic journey since Rochelle, Rochelle). But, towards the end of its new trailer, Jack and Diane provides a twist. You see, this isn’t just a story about two blossoming young girls who are experiencing changes in their bodies and minds because of out of whack hormone levels. Oh no. The changes these girls are going through are much too violent for that. After a brief period of new discovery, problems with parents, close calls on skateboards, and threats of moving to new schools (you know, kid stuff), the focus of this ad turns to blood-churning, skin-ripping, and hair-sprouting. Good heavens, this isn’t just a metaphor for becoming an adult, this little indie romance is actually a horror movie! And if that isn’t enough to get you on the hook, the film also promises music by super-mellow and super-great Icelandic music-makers Múm. Young love, body horror, chill tunes…what more could a film fan ask for?
Movie News After Dark: Cougar Town, Famous Potheads, Lesbian Werewolves, Sin City 2 and Transformers: The Ride 3D Kaboom!
Movie News By Neil Miller on April 20, 2012 | Comments (1)What is Movie News After Dark? It’s still called Movie News After Dark, despite what the network says. We begin tonight with an example of one of the many great title cards from Cougar Town, a show that has not been about actual cougars, figurative cougars or metaphorical cougars for a very long time. But “Pay attention,” informed this week’s title card. “Cougar Town almost makes sense this week.” As someone who loves this show, the opportunity to introduce you to this gallery of Cougar Town title cards brings me great joy. It all goes back to the ongoing discussions over whether the heavily underrated show should change its name. But oddly, nothing else seems right. Who cares if it’s not about cougars? It’s really funny.

That group includes James Franco and Ian Olds‘s Francophrenia (or Don’t Kill Me, I Know Where the Baby Is) which was filmed during tapings of Franco’s appearances on General Hospital. It also boasts new work from Harmony Korine and several of the most interesting-sounding flicks from the European Film Market. Check out the full list below:
Lesbian Werewolf Flick ‘Jack and Diane’ Finally Pairs Two Ladies
Movie News By Dustin Hucks on May 28, 2010 | Comments (4)August of last year, Bloody Disgusting reported that Ellen Page had been replaced by Alison Pill in Bradley Rust Gray’s indie venture, Jack and Diane. It feels like such a long time ago now.
Ellen Page dropped out of Sam Raimi’s ‘Drag Me to Hell’ this week, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing plenty of her over the next 24 months…
