It is time once again for a special edition of the Reject Report, the 2008 Year in Review! This is our final look at 2008’s box office winners — and our final chance to roast some of the losers.

This is yet another exciting week for the Blu-ray lovers among us, and not just because we finally get The Dark Knight to watch on our HDTVs. We also get a great sci-fi classic and one of TV’s most beloved in glorious 1080p.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, better known to many of us as The Academy, has announced the 14 submitted films for the Best Animated Feature Award that will be handed out next February.

Need a date movie? A popcorn flick? A thriller? We’ve got you covered — and we’ve got you in and out faster than you can say “Hey, those Film School Rejects really know what they are talkin’ about…”

Well, it was Horton who received a big golden Easter egg this weekend from the box office, as Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! won at the box office for the second weekend in a row, as most everyone predicted. Horton finished with $25 million while Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns did the best among new releases at $20 million. Again, no real surprises.

While Doomsday struggles to get moving, Horton plops his big elephant behind down on top of the box office.

Walking into Horton Hears a Who!, I was game for a nice and fluffy time-filler. In all honesty, I did not expect, however, to come away from it thinking that this was the first great movie I’ve seen thus far in 2008. [Grade: A-]

Horton Hears a Who is the best Seussical adaptation for the big screen yet.

Don’t disrupt the families when you play, and it’s probably not a good idea to do this game at a 1 p.m. show on Saturday.
