Warner Bros. Pictures has provided FSR with the third theatrical trailer for their upcoming adventure Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film in the Potter series and the second from director David Yates.

It is time to get this whole thing started — and we do that with the Early Edition, our ironically named homage to the CBS TV show of the mid-90s in which we take the day’s biggest headlines and modify them slightly, making them interesting…

I will be the first to tell you that I haven’t read any of the Harry Potter books. So I have no idea what is going on beyond the most recently released film. But what I can tell you from all of the promotional materials that I’ve seen is that this new film looks dark.

Sometimes posters can be oh so wrong. They can be boring and flat and either blend into the background of the local movie theater or worse, turn people off seeing the movie. Of course, for every negative, there’s a positive. We’ll leave you to decide where these fall.

We all know that Harry Potter is on his way back into the theaters but for fans who can’t wait until the opening on July 17 there’s a nice featurette on line at MSN that hopefully will keep Harry Potter withdrawal at bay for the faithful.

The lovely folks over at BadTaste.it, hailing from the wine soaked land of Italy, sent over a look at three brand new posters for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this afternoon for your viewing pleasure.

First the still images, now the trailer. There’s some cool stuff coming out of Japan on the Half-Blood front.

A Japanese fansite got its hands on a super crazy amount of new Harry Potter images. Hopefully your internet tubes reach all the way to Asia.

If you ask anyone in the film industry, the year doesn’t begin until we’ve properly dictated to you our most anticipated movies of the next 12 months. Seriously, ask anyone. They will tell you that anticipation cannot exist without a road map. And said map must be provided by the staff here at FSR. It’s science.

To hell with Harry Potter’s battle with Voldemort, critics are now fearing that an economic depression may cast a dark spell over the film franchise.

The folks at the Internet Movie Database, our one and only source of facts about film (we also farm our opinions from the message boards, mind you), have released the list of the Top 25 Most Searched Movies of 2008. Topping the list is… drum roll… The Dark Knight. No surprise there.

The Potterites can still get a Potter fix in the new photo out of Frank Dillane as the teenage Tom Riddle who will go on to become the Dark Lord, Voldemort. Better yet ABC TV will have a first looks at the film from December 5-7 during their Harry Potter weekend.

A ton of dark images, Ron looking like he huffed paint, Malfoy being angsty in front of a mirror, Harry battling an unshown coward, girls flirting with Potter because he’s the Chosen One and (finally) some more Quidditch.

I’m not an expert on the world of Muggles, Wizards and Witches, but I do know this — what happens at Hogwarts certainly never stays at Hogwarts.

While Harry Potter fans are still a bit miffed by the release date delay on the upcoming chapter in the successful franchise, there may be some good news on the horizon… Maybe…

After the decision to push back Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to a Summer release, Warner Bros. has a lot of explaining to do. And while they may try, there could be no consoling broken-hearted Potter fans.

Team Edward and Team Jacob should be in agreement this evening, at least on the fact that an earlier release for the upcoming Twilight adaptation is a good thing.

Warner Bros. announced today that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is no longer on their 2008 release schedule, and instead will open July 17, 2009.
