According to the LA times, New Line’s Gears of War adaptation has stalled and is set to be re-jiggered with a lower budget and new director.

Roland Emmerich isn’t the only director thinking about the end of the world this year. According to THR, Underworld and Live Free or Die Hard directer Len Wiseman is also looking to put an end to humanity.

Sure, we have seen plenty of cool movie-related footage and talked to all kinds of stars and filmmakers about their upcoming project, but wouldn’t you know that one thing that keeps catching our eye is the cool stuff out on the show floor here at Comic-Con.

I don’t really get it? How is this any different from Halo or any other futuristic, other-worldly, shooter game? While the graphics are pretty dark and creepy, and the content is certainly for a mature audience…is it really that special?
