Games People Play
Short Film Of The Day: The Bizarre, Concentrated Comedy of ‘Games People Play’
Features By Scott Beggs on February 21, 2012 | Comments (1)Why Watch? With a sketch show premise given the short film treatment, Two Trick Pony delivers a young man trying to pitch his new board game to an eccentric figure that’s part parody and part obsessive. It’s a sadistic version of Mr. Pennybags whose line delivery makes the comedy work. Plus, the sheer amount of ways they toy around with board game rules makes the interview as frustrating as it is funny. There are easy jokes here, but it’s the unexpected ones that make this short shine, and the punch line might be the sweetest of all. What will it cost? Only 3 minutes. Skip Work. You’ve Got Time For More Short Films.
