I’m not usually one for spin-offs, so then why am I this damn excited about Russell Brand, Jonah Hill, and Emily Blunt in the supposed spin-off of Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

It is time once again for the FSR Year in Review, our annual week of lists and recaps, counting down the very best in film for the year. We begin our quest with the place where most cinematic journeys start, with a great movie poster.

How (puke-colored) green was our valley in 2008? I offer ten instances in film that did not live up to a certain amount of hype, didn’t get the credit they deserved, or just flat-out disappointed the general public.

In the world of reviewing Blu-ray releases, I am a lover, not a fighter. And when it comes to Forgetting Sarah Marshall on Blu-ray, I’m loving it up big time.

Well, it was Sarah Marshall who got dumped this weekend at the box office. Or better yet, it was Judd Apatow who got dumped — not by Sarah Marshall, but by the moviegoing public, AGAIN.

The DVD will probably have some great unrated special features, and I’m sure that Jason Segel’s penis is going to pop up again in them… more than once.

It appears things are definitely looking up as far as theater business goes in the next few weeks. We have the Judd Apatow production Forgetting Sarah Marshall, we have the Al Pacino thriller 88 Minutes, and the action flick The Forbidden Kingdom.

Forget Sarah Marshall, or any other girl (or guy) with these Hawaiian themed drinks and a special tasty treat!

According to Yahoo! news, Judd Apatow, who has become a juggernaut of comedies in the last three years with films like Knocked Up, The 40-Year Old Virgin and Superbad will be honored as Comedy Person of the Year at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, July 10-20.

Theater lobby displays are certainly nothing new. I remember way back in the day a number of Looney Tunes displays graced the floors of my local cineplex when Space Jam came out. According to /Film, Pixar’s Wall-E is the newest to add something to lobby charm.

I really loved this one, it was one of my favorites of the festival and I can’t wait until all of you can see it.

Judd Apatow’s camp comes through again with a comedy that is a lot smarter than you would initially think… [Grade: B+]
