After their first poster was denied by the MPAA, they resorted to a much more direct approach.

Kevin Smith may have won the war a few weeks ago when he successfully appealed his new film’s rating from an ‘NC-17′ to a commercially viable ‘R’, but he’s apparently lost the battle.

Well now this is interesting, isn’t it. As you can see above, the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly features a first look at actor Josh Brolin in full makeup as George W. Bush.

Today, we got word from the guys at News Askew that the film’s official website received an update. We raced over there to find that Kevin has published a few new images from the film, which can be seen after the jump.

Few directors are more political in their movies than Oliver Stone, but has he crossed the line by putting into production a film about the Bush Administration? Well, the one thing that does impress us is the stellar cast he’s putting together.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Elizabeth Banks is becoming the next Hollywood “It” girl? It began with her role in The 40-Year Old Virgin and has continued on to a lead role in Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and it will ultimately continue with her role as Laura Bush in Oliver Stone’s W, a biopic of current President George W. Bush.

The first trailer has been released for the upcoming Eddie Murphy comedy Meet Dave, which stars Murphy as a guy who is really a craft of some kind, in which itty bitty people live and work. It is sort of like Innerspace, only not fun, creative or even remotely interesting.
