We all love seeing the Earth blow up in movies, even if it rarely happens. We’re in this fight together, and if we all pitch in just a little bit, we’ll be able to witness the complete death of our Earth many times during our lifetime.

In this edition of This Week in Blu-ray, it is time to usher in the month of September with a swath of TV-on-BD, a forecast for the weeks to come as the fall television season heats up.

Rob Hunter loves movies. He also loves training friends and strangers alike in the deadly and mystical way of Jewish martial arts. These two joys come together in the form of cash money payments that he receives every week and immediately uses to buy more DVDs. Kevin Carr reviews this week’s new movies: The Soloist, Earth and Obsessed.

Neil leads a protest against the studios by refusing to see any of the movies out this week. Kevin suffers through The Soloist while he takes his kids to work (i.e., gets them out of school to see a movie) on Take Your Child to Work Day.

If losing the Presidency means winning an Academy Award and A Nobel Peace Prize as consolation, then we should see John McCain on the arms of Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway by January of 2010.
