Movie News After Dark: The Hobbit, The FP and the Naked Asses of William H. Macy and Alan Tudyk
Movie News By Neil Miller on January 30, 2012 | Comments (3)What is Movie News After Dark? It’s a nightly movie news collection that doesn’t usually involve so much nudity, or Dance Dance Revolution references, but Mondays are always a little special. We begin this evening with a new shot from The Hobbit, a film you may have heard about. It’s also a film that will undoubtedly be filled with little people, tall wizards, shires, middling earths and rings inscribed with “From Sauron, with love.” This one features Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, standing amongst friends.
Join us each week as Rob Hunter takes a look at new DVD releases and gives his highly unqualified opinion as to which titles are worth BUYing, which are better off as RENTals, and which should be AVOIDed at all costs. And remember, these listings and category placements are meant as informational conversation starters only. But you can still tell Hunter how wrong he is in the comment section below. This week sees several good releases, but only one worth buying (and I’m just as surprised as you that it’s an Adult Swim title). But there’s plenty worth a Rental for folks who don’t love foul-mouthed stop-motion comedy, including Date Night, Tapped, Death At a Funeral, Under the Mountain, The Good Heart, and more. See all of this week’s relevant DVD releases after the jump…
The Reject Report: Everyone’s a Loser at the Box Office This Week
Box Office By Neil Miller on April 23, 2010 | Comments (3)It’s another beautiful and sunny week here at The Reject Report. Alright, that’s a lie. It’s rather depressing. John Cairns is no longer writing this column, and it looks to be a drab week for Hollywood’s bean counters…

Another Kick-Ass Edition of The Reject Report

It’s a funny thing about remakes. For the most part, they are done for the wrong reasons and done with a lack of creativity. It’s something that concerns every movie fan when they hear the word. However, when you do it right, you deserve some praise. And this movie deserves some praise.
Death at a Funeral Trailer: Could Be Ok, But It’s Not the Same
Movie News By Neil Miller on December 5, 2009 | Comments (9)There’s something to be said about remakes, I know. And over the course of the nearly 4-year existence of Film School Rejects, we’ve said a lot about them. And with this one, there seems to be a lot to say…
Unnecessary Remake: Chris Rock Brings ‘Death at a Funeral’ To America
In Development By Rob Hunter on November 8, 2008 | Comments (33)Chris Rock is writing and starring in a remake of the 2007 British comedy, Death at a Funeral. A film that came out just last year, was directed by an American (Frank Oz), had pretty good exposure here in the US, and is already in English.
