Liz and Drew (Jon Hamm) finally go on their first date, which, unbeknownst to Liz, is Valentine’s Day. Jack plans to spend the evening at an exclusive restaurant with Elisa (Salma Hayek), but his plans are put on hold when she insists, being the devout Catholic that she is, on first attending church.

When Jack realizes that Elisa’s (Salma Hayek) grandmother dislikes him because he resembles exactly the dastardly Generalissimo on her favorite Spanish soap opera, he makes Liz write some flattering episodes with Elisa’s help. Unfortunately, the exploits of the Spanish antagonist just give Liz ideas on how to win over her new attractive neighbor, the philanthropic Dr. Drew Baird (Jon Hamm).

For those of you who missed last night’s Superbowl, let me start by saying that you missed one hell of a game. Secondly, you missed some pretty great commercials wedged uncomfortably between obviously desperate promos for NBC’s Heroes.

Jack has been selected to give the keynote speech at the GE’s Six Sigma Retreat to Move Forward and, apprehensive of how his cohorts will think of him, requests that Liz join him.

Liz, still in the throngs of baby fever, ends up on a date with Stewart (Peter Dinklage), a UN employee whom she mistakes for a child on the street.

After Jack accidentally hits his mother, Colleen (Elaine Stritch), with his car while visiting her for Christmas, she comes back to New York to spend the holiday with him.

I can’t say that I was particularly excited for this one, and when I heard the “I like to move it” song…I thought I’d be in for the same movie. However, as the film pushed along, I ended up being pleasantly surprised.

Jack returns to 30 Rock when he sees that Devin (Will Arnett) is having a psychotic breakdown and is attempting to shut the company down. Meanwhile, Liz is struggling to impress her adoption agent (Megan Mullally) as tensions rise between Tracy and Jenna.

On paper, this looks like a nice teaming. Alec Baldwin is a great actor, and I don’t care if he’s beating his kids with aluminum trash cans. Steve Martin, well, that’s another story.

That’s the rumor being bandied about over at CHUD. If it’s true, then James needs an intervention of good counsel. And I’m just the man to give it.

… oh, and he’ll be in Madagascar 2 as well.
