I liked the Adam West TV show better! And I am a comic book fan. Read any Batman Comics from the 1940′s to 1960′s when Robin came onbaord they were more lighthearted fun. The character was only a dark vigilante in the beginning and revamped that way in the 1970′s. I prefer the lighter version. Thought this movie was terrible. Get rid of the retarded Batman voice please Bale.

I must admit I found this movie underwhelming. Not as much fun as iron man, it came across like it was a batman centered episode of “battlestar galactica ” without the great writting, acting and bravery of it’s stories.

“Good Review. I saw the movie. and have a hunch. The movie started with the Jokers hiest in the Bank. In his office you see William Fichtner as a Bank Manager. He ends up shooting at the Jokers clowns and then has a dialouge with Heath Ledger before he leaves. People have told me that if you look closely at his name plate on his desk, it reads Edward Nigma. Which so happens to be the name of Batman’s foe “The Riddler.” It’s interesting that they would throw the Riddler in, if in fact this is true. I can see Fictner playing the Riddler. Especially in a Nolan based Batman. I have a feeling that Dent isn’t dead and we’ll see Two Face and Riddler again. And what would be good for the Franchise is the recast the Joker. Joker goes hand and hand with Batman. They should get Johnny Depp to play him. Maybe not in the same movie but think about it.”

i went and saw it for the third time tonight, and couldnt find a name plate at all on his desk… i was really looking forward to that too:P

Iron Man was very good, but it doesn’t hold a candlestick to Dark Knight. As I already mentioned, I liked In Bruges but thought it came up just short of greatness. And I’ve already written a review about my problems with WALL-E.

I think the hitler reference was drawing a parallel between the mobster’s acceptance of a nutjob leader out of desperation and hitler’s rise to power in post WW1, treaty of versailles Germany.

Nice review, but you guys must not have seen any other films this year if you think this is the first great film of 2008. Iron Man was spectacular, and perhaps even better than The Dark Knight. Here are some others: In Bruges, The Wackness, Wall E, just to name a couple.

i would love to see a sequal, not with joker. i think making a new joker could ruin heaths legacy, and someone elses by not amounting to heaths performance. just live it as it is. and the next villian can be established.

Damn…this review made me wanna cry. No lie.

It was greatly written and you sure know your facts about this movie but I could not agree with you more about this movie. I even felt sad when I got out, not because it was bad like your experience with S3, but because it was soo good, even too good. Great review though- the best I’ve read and the only one I can relate to.
