Talk about a movie that doesn't know the meaning of the word "enough": THE HORSEMAN throws so much gratuitous violence at its viewer, the effect is very boring very quickly. I shudder to think the original cut was two and a half hours. I guess the writer-director thought he was making BEN-HUR. Furthermore, we never really care much for the main character. Okay, the loss of his daughter is tragic, but it's a loss caused by stupidity and ignorance. It's not like in DEATH WISH where Charles Bronson's Paul Kersey character endures his innocent family brutalised for no reason. It's not like Raquel Welch as HANNIE CAULDER being the undeserving victim of vicious bandits. It's not even like ROBOCOP for crying out loud. Some guy's daughter dies in a (consensual) orgy of drugs and sex, someone video tapes the whole sordid affair, protagonist decides the best option is to slaughter everyone from the distributor to the fellows who make the plastic video box the movie came in (exagerration, but only slight). Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this limp, lifeless, stupid movie to anyone. Honestly, this film almost did send me to sleep. Maybe that would have been a good thing.

Mark Vanselow

Punches, drill bits spinning Candiru-style up the urethra, or tri-hooked fishing lures pierced through a guy’s dongle then yanked.

Ouch...(shriveling up)
