I can't believe that movies like this are MADE. What is the point of such a stupid movie! The ending was so stupid it almost made me puke. Like a generic pop song. The story must have been written by a 6 year old and Richard Gere was so bad at trying to act tough - which is hard to imagine from his western 1st world upbringing. I would like to personally speak to the director and writer of this movie I would personally like to get inside their heads and understand what the point of this movie is all about. A lot of what this movie was "exposing" is pretty old school and almost seemed like its making these characters "cool".

Why would anyone want to spend their saturday night watching this? I'd rather watch the news if I'd like to watch something vile and corrupt. Its obvious that these writers and directors are so bored with their lives that they make such a generic run of the mil piece of crap. Well done guys you contributing to making the world a better place. YEAH RIGHT.

I believe that this movie will creat “Oscar Buzz.” I have read a lot of criticism about this film, but I think it was an awesome movie. Gere, Hawke and Cheadle certainly brought their characters to life! A+.

It is one of the better movies of the year. You will like it. you stay engaged until the end. most movies I feel that i should have stayed home. NOT THIS ON!

I liked it. Don Cheadle did his thing. Ethan Hawke had you really feeling for his character I was happy to see Wesley back doing his thing and impressed with Richard Gere overall a good movie nice story line. I would have cut a couple of scenes to shorten the movie but overall I really enjoyed it I would give it an A-

Trust me, at 105 minutes, it's not bloated. It was really brutal though and very realistic. I actually bought every single character, not a single performance rang false. It was a little overly operatic and grandiose towards the end but overall I've never seen a movie with so little action keep me so riveted. I'd say catch this in the theater if you can. Brooklyn's Finest is this generation's New Jack City.

While it’s true that the characters here are types — the frazzled family man, the tortured undercover agent, the just-punching-a-clock loser — Fuqua gets some great actors to inhabit them.
