Is your film class in Junior High School? Your lack of knowledge for the business, character, and film in general is astounding. However, you do write like a very accomplished Junior High Schooler. "Bad movie that tries to pass as a good one"? Where do you get your theories from? Who tried to pass it off as great cinema? It's a film about a kid who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and gets super powers, it's not Hamlet. By the way, the directors last name is Raimi.

If you were so bored by Spider-Man 2, why would you believe Spider-Man 3 would be better. Why whine and complain about a franchise that bored you before you even sat down to watch part 3? I was dissapointed in SM3 but your reasons are asinine and incoherent since you are not a fan of the franchise.

For the love of all real writers, stop writing anything but your grocery list!

S3 was a good movie... for ppl who dont know much about spiderman, BIG special effects and multiple bad guys...good CG - BUT!!!

YOU CAN NOT (Repeat) CAN NOT KILL AN ARCH NEMESIS OF A CHARACTER!!!! [R.I.P. VENOM/Eddie Brock]

I think that I speak for all the true fans of spiderman when I say;

I WILL HATE SAM RAMI (or who ever decided it) FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE FOR DOING THIS TO VENOM!!!

By killing venom (after 15 min screentime), they lost allot of fans and trust in future movies...

And TBH I think that he went out like a BIT*H!!!

Topher Grace... OMG were to start... i did not like him playing as Eddie and Venom... he was to skiny, Eddie was always in good shape and had a big posture.
They realy disapointed allot of true fans with the overall appearance of Venom!!!

For Example; the voice of venom WTF was that about, it sounded nothing like venom just like the kid from the 70's show ~_~ 'sigh'

All true fans know what Im talking about when I say: what about "We are Venom"(alien like voice)

Anyway I can go on for hours....

After I saw the movie I was went in a deep depression fol like 3 weeks... ~_~ but thats me...

One more thing; dont expect Venom to return to the big screen very soon, they did not just kill venom but they destroyed the history of the marvel storyline. To repair this it wil take them like 15 to 20 years.

hope I made a point...

I just watched it yesterday despite of all the bad credits friends have told me. I rather thought the critics were good so i dun have much high expectation and let alone the dissapointment.

Totally agree with what jimmy had said. Spidy3 is too shallow to chew on and i did gawning on all my pop corn. Hahaha.

I love Spidy1 and 2. The feel is right. Just like Batman Begin. They gives depth to the characters in the movie. Spidy3 is just too simple. Maybe too it is just too much for Sam. An alien goo, the symbiote which didn't killed by the falling astroid that burns in thousands of degree got killed in bomb which didn't even kill Harry... OMG...

After the movie, my gf ask me what's the alien goo... OMG... they didn't even care to explain who and what VENOM is... I thought VENOM is the biggest enemy in the Marvel story. In my memory the Spidy fuse with Venom because his old suit was torn and he accidentally let lose the once imprisoned Venom.

The movie would have gotten better without Sandyman... just Spidy and Venom would be enough to make a good one. The 1st fight between spidy and sandyman is just that the sandyman ranaway... it doesn't show how weak spidy is agaist Sandyman. It should show how weak is spidy agaist Sandyman and his crave for power and revenge made him wanted to borrow strenght from the venom suit. The story would go much smoother and logical than Venom crawling up to him when he is in the bed dreaming on how the Sandyman killed his uncle.

And the part when Harry asked MJ to do something for him (after he got back his memory), it doesn't make sense that MJ will breakup with Peter. MJ doesn't even seem to treat Harry as her best friend and do just what Harry said (even that he threaten her). It's not real life and the story just makes her looks like slut. Storyline should add that her relationship with Peter would endanger him and that she understands his conflicting feeling of fighting with Harry would made him vulnerable. I think Sam felt weak at this point of the storyline and quickly sweep it away with the bar scene.

And the part where Harry's servent explain how his father died is strange because even thought the wound are caused by the hover board, it doesn't mean that Spidy can't use it to kill his father. The story would have got better that the hover craft have a small cemara (which it suppose to have) to sense and fly, and it recorded the scene where his father died. It would have been a stronger evidence. Harry's father has been disapproving him since Episode 1 and i dun see a reason why he see it so strongly why he want to revenge his father. Although some might argue that his father gave him a shoulder when MJ left him... bah... after knowing my father killed so many in a parade, i dun think i will revenge him after his death...

ok... enough critics... i just hope they can come out with Spidy4... with better story to chew on. Too bad the Spidy 3 made Venom died... and give Brooke a thin character... else they can spin up a good web for Venom-Spidy truce fighting Carnage.... Damn....

Well... critics are critics.... there are good and bad.... thus there are improvements ^_^....
For now, raise the pop corn and enjoy the next movie.

It should show how weak is spidy agaist Sandyman and his crave for power and revenge made him wanted to borrow strenght from the venom suit. The story would go much smoother and logical than Venom crawling up to him when he is in the bed dreaming on how the Sandyman killed his uncle.

And the part when Harry asked MJ to do something for him (after he got back his memory), it doesn’t make sense that MJ will breakup with Peter. MJ doesn’t even seem to treat Harry as her best friend and do just what Harry said (even that he threaten her). It’s not real life and the story just makes her looks like slut. Storyline should add that her relationship with Peter would endanger him and that she understands his conflicting feeling of fighting with Harry would made him vulnerable. I think Sam felt weak at this point of the storyline and quickly sweep it away with the bar scene.

People who say "it was a waste of money" are idiots. The ticket is at the least 10 dollars. Don't give me that bullshit. This movie was THE best of the series. The effects were amazing. Sandman was awsome. And don't bitch about his sob story at the end, because if any of you had payed attention to the movie, Sandman TRIED to tell Spiderman earlier on BUT since he was "all for revenge" Spiderman didn't give a shit and attempted to kill him.

Spiderman, from the start, has always been "the anti popcorn" movie. Sure, it has always been a story that originated from the pages of a comic, but have you read a comic lately? Comics are filled to the brim with snappy dialogue, innovative themes, drama, comedy, horror.....everything! It is not a sufficiant argument to defend a bland, unoriginal popcorn blockbuster like Spiderman 3 by saying it's just a comic book story.
Okay, back to my main argument. In Spiderman 1, we meet Peter Parker....he's young, naive, shy, anti-social, but he is NOT by any means, ignorrent. That character spent so much time thinking about what he could do for OTHERS, from crawling into the ring to impress Mary Jane with a new car, to not confronting Harry when he started dating her, to trying to STOP the green goblin rather than kill him, to deciding to deny his love for Mary Jane in order to save her. These are the actions of a very thoughtful kid. And do you remember the tone of that movie, Spider Man 1? It was very dark and viseral with an optomisitic undertone, but it definitley had a prominant "feel" to it. The sort of tone that let you imerse yourself in the film and become more than just a spectator--people who watch "popcorn" movies are spectators. They just sit there bored and uninterested with only a super sized container of over buttered popcorn to keep them. Patiently they wait for the next explosion or punch thrown to temporarily jarr the monotony and thrill them. But, the thrill last for the moment and then is gone.
Now, by contrast, a movie that is not a popcorn flick draws your interest and is sometimes so compelling your popcorn can no longer command much attention form you. My usual measure of a popcorn flick is whether or not you even have popcorn left by the time the opening credits are over. Usually if you are aniticipating a films openening sequence enough, you plow right through that popcorn and then are too enamored with the movie once it starts to pry yourself away and go retrieve a refill. When i saw Spidey 3 you could here folks gorging on popcorn throughout the entire film and many left to go get refills even during action scenes. This type of behavior would have been unheard of during Spidey 1 for example. I remember seeing Spidey 1...part way through the movie it was as silent as death in that theatre. The popcorn could no longer command anyone's attention and a refill? They might miss something!
Spiderman films have always had that ability to KEEP YOUR INTEREST for the duration of the film. Like part two, it opened with a very action packed but substance filled scene showcasing Spiderman and Peter Parker's tumultuos relationship and how life treats Peter. The entire movie had drama and action intermingled instead of awkwardly sectioned off and partitioned like Spidey 3. Really, go review Spiderman 1 and 2, you'll get my drift especially if Spiderman 3 is still fresh in your mind.
Spiderman 3 was the exception. First of all, it lacked a good opening sequence. Part 2 boasted a clever compolation of on screen drama and comedy to welcome the audience. I mean, have you forgotten that he had to be Spiderman saving lives on his way to deliver a pizza as Peter Parker? I still marvel at how dramatic they were able to make a pizza delivery gone wrong.
Instead, we get a poorly done city scene of poorly chosen extras showing an unexplained disinterest in the commercial over advertising of the web head in the city. Next, we see Parker and MJ stargazing a top a giant web that we were robbed of the pleasure of seeing Spidey spin. i guess the scene was devised to show us that MJ is handling her boyfriend being a super hero well, but it was poorly handled. A better scene may have been of Mary Jane witnessing the web slinger in action and showering peter with unfettered love and affection later. my main gripe is that i never felt 100% sold that MJ was completely OK with Peter being Spider Man. In contrast, at the end of Spiderman 2, i was totally convinced, and i know you were too, that MJ was totally in love with Peter and ready to accept him warts and all, the main wart being his dangerous past time. I eman she last lafte us waering a wedding dress and looking longingly at Spider man as he swang away into the evening sky.
I thought they were setting them up to be married in Spiderman3, but when we see them again they are just boyfriend and girlfriend and not even what i'd call "tight". It seemed they were casual boyfriend and gilrfriend whch isn't beleivable considering that MJ knows he is Spiderman and in peril all the time. You would think the two would want to make the most of NOW since spidey's future is so uncertain.
MJ should have been in a position to be a loving and supportive fiance, but the writers decided to ruin her career and reduce her to a bedraggled woman on the verge. I don't get it.
I know i'm draging on, but i haven't even scratched the surface of what made Spiderman 3 bad. Still, i can finish up by saying that it simply lacked the ability to make us suspend or disbelief. I have to agree with the gentlemen on here that said the movie was full of too many coincidences and winks at the audience. it simply was. The lack of devices like that is what differentiated Spidey 1 and 2 from tepid marvel outings like Elektra, the Hulk, and Daredevil.

Spiderman, from the start, has always been “the anti popcorn” movie. Sure, it has always been a story that originated from the pages of a comic, but have you read a comic lately? Comics are filled to the brim with snappy dialogue, innovative themes, drama, comedy, horror…..everything! It is not a sufficiant argument to defend a bland, unoriginal popcorn blockbuster like Spiderman 3 by saying it’s just a comic book story.
Okay, back to my main argument. In Spiderman 1, we meet Peter Parker….he’s young, naive, shy, anti-social, but he is NOT by any means, ignorrent. It was very dark and viseral with an optomisitic undertone, but it definitley had a prominant “feel” to it. The sort of tone that let you imerse yourself in the film and become more than just a spectator–people who watch “popcorn” movies are spectators.
I remember seeing Spidey 1…part way through the movie it was as silent as death in that theatre. The popcorn could no longer command anyone’s attention and a refill? They might miss something!
Spiderman films have always had that ability to KEEP YOUR INTEREST for the duration of the film. Like part two, it opened with a very action packed but substance filled scene showcasing Spiderman and Peter Parker’s tumultuos relationship and how life treats Peter. The entire movie had drama and action intermingled instead of awkwardly sectioned off and partitioned like Spidey 3. Really, go review Spiderman 1 and 2, you’ll get my drift especially if Spiderman 3 is still fresh in your mind.

First I love Spidey, a true, growing up with Hero.

I really enjoyed the the two prior movies as well. Here though, I found it very difficult to get into the Suspension of Disbelief. I just wasn't buying it.

Come on. Alien goo just happens to land next to Peter and MJ? Catching a ride on his moped, and take him over, just as Peter is wrestling with his ever present demons of his dead uncle?

Marko becomes the Sandman by falling into a pit, just as some very weird DNA particle device was starting up? What kind of experiment do you conduct on sand?

Brock happens in the same church as Spidey at the exact moment some of the alien goo falls, landing on and taking him over?

I know, I know it's comic book, but man, this was way too comic book for me. These were really too much to accept.

I also didn't get the French matre d comedy routine? Huh? And it was Billy Campbell too? I thought Raimi made fun of this kind of movie, now he just went and made one himself. Shame Sam.

Technically this it was fantastic, Spidey and the actions scenes are better than ever but after that many things run thin.

You can only have MJ in peril so many times before you just kinda hope she gets killed so you don't have to hear her scream any more.

We'll see if Spidey 4 can wrestle 10 bucks out of me next time.
