from the ALWAYS 'comfortable and well-connected' BOGUS 'daring outsider'
Spike Jonze.

We understand it's NOT the kids but the 'adults' who are swarming to this 'inner-child'
neurotic circle-jerk's mess.

—OH —B TW -in case you haven't heard —Spike and ALLLLLL the rest of Holywood
and media are prettty much covering for the direct heirs of the greatest genocidal
monsters in history —-across the Pacific!

-That 'inconvenient' murder of 70 million human beings —in 'peacetime' just NEVER
seems to get any quality attention form Jonze —or the rest of Hollywood.
See, they're on all four for those VAST and continuing funds and market favors.
ABSOLUTELY TRUE.

Think we're exaggerating? Well, it was the 50th anniversary of the Korean
War a little while back. You know –Korea —-their 'fave' creditor's neighbor
and client state. —Amid all the anachronistic WWII fantasies —-you catch anything
about it? –about Korea generally? —You know -millions are suffering and dying there
—right now. Again, anything?

Label me as a "Let Down Wild Thing".

I sooo wanted to love this movie. Actors were perfect, creature were perfect, visual everything perfect, screenplay...eh. The Wild Things accept Max as king because they are creature inside his mind. He is supposed to escape within himself. This movie doesn't capture that basic concept at all. At times he's afraid of the beasts and lies to save his skin. Who is afraid of their own imaginary friends?!

And while I really enjoy I Heart Huckabees, listen to rap occasionally, have thick black rimmed glasses, and eagerly await for my genius to be discovered, sadly, this movies doesn't rank movie of any year for me.

I'd give it a B. It's definitely worth seeing. I just don't think it's the 'masterpiece' that a lot of people are calling it.

I like Where The Wild Things Are. It's beautifully shot, it captures the struggle of being a child really well, Max Records does an incredible job, and the monsters are amazing creations.

But… as a movie it really doesn't work. There's a reason the book is so short. The lesson Max learns is an extremely simple one. The movie has to pad it's running time with more and more scenes of Max seeing how hard it is to be a family. Again and again and again it's drilled in to his (and our) heads. So he leaves. There just isn't really story enough to fill a feature film. The final shot is brilliant, but it doesn't make up for the repetitive (but beautiful) emptiness that came before.

when did only hipsters like Spike Jonze? the man created Girl Skateboards and Jackass…so there is a massive following of his work by young people in general…

Total failure at life for using the word “hipsters”. Do you people who label like this not realize you're right in the same category as idiotic teens who go around labeling themselves as “preppy” or “band geek” or “jock” or etc? Really? You're basically just calling names and mudslinging by using such a word. Grow the hell up and quit it already, it's the type of mudslinging that makes the internet a whiny terrible place to be. Otherwise good review.
