I’m not as much of a comics nut as you – I have barely any comics, but boy do I fucking love Spider-Man and Venom. I know enough to know that Rami totally buthered the series. He has no true understanding or love of Spider-Man. If I was a producer on that film I would have edited the shit out of the final cut and given my directors a talking to in regard to hiring personel that didn’t cherish Spider-Man.

1. Venom is blue, not black.

2. Venom is huge, not skinny.

3. Venom in the film doesn’t even look remotely like venom in the comics.

4. Venom was reduced to an afterthought in Spidey 3. This is fucking criminal. He deserves a huge part from start to finish. At the end of Spider-Man 3 there is so much going on they have to basically make up the ending and explain on a news feed how we got there.

5. The symbiote is a separate entity that hates Spider-Man. This wasn’t explained in the film. In fact, you never know anything about the symbiote. This is ridiculous, and should have been a powerful story arc.

6. Venom sounds crap, i.e. sound effects wise.
