Are you kidding me? Did we see the same film? It was weak, thin, and pointless. The only reason to see it is the soundtrack. Sad, because it should and could have been so much more. Clips of people dancing do not a movie make. Boo.

saw this the 1st time it was released here in Europe, it was called 'the boat that rocked' rather than 'pirate radio' and to be honest since you don't get exposed to Nick Frost or Chris O’Dowd like we do here, you really can't appreciate how this film could have been so much fun, but turned out to be....meh

total waste of a great cast

shame really...

This versus Love, Actually....of course it loses. But. I thought a lot of the shenanigans landed to me. Must be my owning a sense of humor that did it. You'll understand one day.

I'd be curious to check out the extra twenty minutes, though. This cut felt just right, and I imagine a longer cut might have weighed it down.

This is a good flick, but I didn't find it nearly as hilarious as you make it out to be here. There are some definite funny moments, and I agree that Branagh's character is involved in many of them, but too many of the boat shenanigans fail to connect. Music is great, the actors are fantastic (but often spread too thin), and the brief attempts at heart are dropped in favor of something else. A good movie, but far from Curtis' best work.

As a side note, I've only seen the UK edit which I've been told is longer than the US cut.
