Now how did I miss reading your great review till now? I am so fed up with the reviews that dissect LAW ABIDING CITIZEN like a CSI DB. You give a fair assessment on this movie that I loved. (I give it a higher grade) I loved the edge of your seat what will happen NEXT action. And the surprises that almost made me jump out of my seat! I will be back to read more of your reviews, Dr.Abaius. Well done.

No, it isn't Death Sentence remade as far as i see. Much better and much more dark, especially for an action-type.

I saw it at http://hitflix.net/watch-law-abiding-citizen-online/ and it was great. Lots of action and paired with an amazing plot.

I did have to fill out a survey but the movie was free and awesome.

I read the script as well, and I was equally entertained by it and the movie. They stuck pretty close (at least to the version I read) and I was only disappointed with the end of each. Actor-wise both leads are fine. Butler does an amazing job even though his mouth seems to have to work extra hard to cover his accent. Foxx is okay.

I read the screenplay for this and was highly entertained…but this was before I knew who the actors were. I'm curious to see how well it will translate onto the screen.

Your final grade is too low. Even with the less impressive third act the movie is a solid B.

And I agree with your criticisms of Foxx's character in the final third. It was where he should have really stepped up not only as a DA but as a character in the audiences eyes. I was still rooting for Butler all the way through to the end, and there should have been a better transference there. But even so this movie is a blast and tons of fun to watch with an audience.

And it's a hell of a lot more entertaining than this weekend's other big release... (and no I'm not referring to The Stepfather.)
