It really disappoints me to hear that this turns out to be nothing more than a cliche piece of garbage.
Almost makes me wish someone would be willing enough to do an adaptation of Danielewski's House of Leaves... Or at least something along that vein- a haunted house story about the people in the house and not just the creepy stuff that happens in the house itself... That would be nice...

I loved her in The Prophecy! And the sequel as well very well made movie. Who can argue when the Devil is at play. I must admit, however I do not bother with horror movies anymore, because they are so comedic. I miss the good old days of children with supernatural powers. Carey, Reagan, Carol Anne and the original Michael and Damien. Children so creepy they make you thank God for birth control.

Its amazing what low standards casual movie goers have for horror movies. I'll sometimes find myself explaining why I didn't like a horror movie only to be interupted with the question "Is it scary?" Aparrently thats all it takes. One of my friends actually liked The Unborn (gasp)

It's sad that Virginia Madsen and Elias Koteas starred fifteen years ago in a great movie that still disturbs me a little bit when I watch it: The Prophecy. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114194/
The Prophecy understood how to get under your skin, and it didn't need cheesy effects to do it. Makers of 'horror' now movies seem to think all you need is a morphing image here and there, maybe sped up, or a splash of blood, and audiences will jump instead of yawn. They forgot that less is more, and the cheapest F/X is the audience's imagination when you give them just enough to run with.
Sounds like Haunting In Connecticut is yet another movie wasting a lot of potential.
