I loved the movie ! I wonder whose view is it on here an African AMerican view that you would grade it a C+ ?
I give the movie an A+ ! Amazing when you see the comment policy - I wonder how may people would you allow to tell the truth about how they felt about your rating of a C+. It seems as though whomever wrote this is missing the whole point of the movie. Mr. RObert Levin is this just what you think of the movie or do you have a group of viewers and this is all of your opinion including and African American?

While I agree with some of the critics points, however if you feel that the movie is "obvious, unbelievable and overelaborate" surely the person veiwing it will also take notice. It seems as though you are attempting to convince others rather than giving a general synopsis.

The moral to the story is crystal clear and it's a story that needed to be told and acknowlegded. It sickens me to know that either the lack of knowledge of the town of melody or the pure ingnorance of racists allowed this DA to hold his position for any amount of time after his true motive and deception was apparent. I pray the message of this film is spread quickly and that the leaders and judges of Melody step up and rise to the occassion. That they use there authority appropriately and without basis. And that they do not fall victim any longer to their own ignorance that has clouded their judgement all these years which in the end ruined many lives and adds yet more expense for the law bidding tax payers and for what ?? Their egos?? They need to walk with God, Surrender to God and allow him to use them as his vessels, not the opposite. Thank God for talented moral individuals that care more about relaying important messages to the masses, rather than creating what critics declare a "blockbuster hit". Not everything is about money.

I loved "America Violet" it is souch a touchy drama movie, i cried the first time I saw it. It represents real life scenarios that will help you better understand and judge the main character of the movie.

I found the movie American Violet to be an excellent movie. Beharie did an excellent job playing the role of Dee. I was drawn into the movie form the beginning to the end. What I found frightening was the fact that Beckett still holds office in Melody Texas, today in 2009. How much has really changed!!! It is a movie well worth seeing.
